Community Preventive Health Initiative: CPR & First Aid for Families is a free YGIS community workshop designed to help families and community members build confidence in responding to emergencies. Participants will learn the importance of CPR and first aid, how to recognize emergencies and call 911, how to perform high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants, and basic first aid for situations such as bleeding, choking, burns, and other common emergencies.
The workshop will be led by Isabella Lu, a certified First Aid and CPR instructor/examiner, Lifesaving Swim Instructor, SwimAbilities Instructor, and CSIA-certified ski instructor, along with Stephen Jiang, who holds an Emergency First Aid Certificate and is a firefighter cadet.
This workshop is open to families with children, families with seniors, youth, community members, and anyone interested in learning life-saving skills. The date and location are to be announced. The workshop is free and open to all, with limited spots available. Participants can register at ygis.ca/workshops.
